SHELF-WORTHY MAKEUP PRODUCTS

Product as art

Sustainable design

Every item has a life-cycle. Can we extend that cycle by creating items that have a dual purpose? (problem)

A makeup brush is a replaceable product. It gets old, it gets dirty, or you just want a new one. Instead of just throwing it away and creating more waste, why don't we make a brush that can be repurposed?

Makeup brushes as bathroom vanity art (opportunity)

Products so well designed, you want to keep them on your shelf. How can we design a brush that someone would want to keep after it has served its primary function?

Cultural symbolism (solution)

Makeup brush designs inspired by mythology/stories. The current designs are inspired by Gods and Goddesses from Greek mythology.

Brush breakdown

  1. Ornament : Detachable from the brush handle, can be repurposed as a trinket or jewelry.
  2. Handle : Beautifully made, even if the brush is no longer being used for makeup, the product can be used as a display trinket.
  3. Head: Replaceable, once it has become too old to use you can unscrew it from the brush handle and replace it with a new one.

Repurpose for sustainability

As indicated in the below diagrams, parts of this brush are meant to be repurposed as a trinket or decoration.

One of the main causes for switching out makeup brushes is the breakdown of the brush bristles. By making the brush head detachable & replaceable, you can put it all back together as a brush good as new.
